Welcome to the
Ballard Emergency Hubs

Ballard Prepares is a voluntary network of committed individuals and organizations working to help Ballard neighborhoods immediately deal with catastrophic disasters and to recover after the disaster.

After a major disaster, Ballard Prepares has developed six Emergency Communication Hubs that will activate to establish communication with the city of Seattleā€™s Emergency Operations Center and to assist in the coordination of local available resources provided by residents, organizations, and businesses.
Ballard Prepares also works to educate the entire Ballard community on emergency preparedness in advance of a disaster.
The Ballard Commons Hub serves residents and businesses of central Ballard. During drills or an actual disaster event, the Ballard Commons Hub will set up in the Ballard Commons Park across from the Ballard Library.
There are 5 other Hubs serving different parts of Ballard and Crown Hill:

Ballard Locks, Seattle's agteway to the Puget Sound on a vessel.

    After a tremendously successful drill last October at the Wedgwood Hub, the neighborhood emergency gathering place activated again this morning for another practice run.
