Our mission is to enhance Broadview’s resiliency by preparing neighbors to “stand up” after a disaster to support one another. After a large disaster (earthquake or widespread power outage), first responders will be deployed to the most vulnerable areas of the city. Broadview neighbors will need to support themselves for some time until outside help can arrive. Emergency Hubs lead that effort!

Broadview’s Hubs will:
• Gather and share information with neighbors
• Provide education on how to navigate the disaster
• Help neighbors share resources
• Organize volunteers
Our Hubs use amateur radio to get news from adjacent Hubs and City officials.
Note: Seattle’s Emergency Hubs operate independent of the City but coordinate with local and regional emergency services where possible.

To help our neighborhood BEFORE a crisis, the Broadview Hubs host exercises to practice our response – and free trainings to help our neighbors prepare their households. Learn more by joining our mailing list… BroadviewPrepares@gmail.com
