Resiliency Skills Fair – Sustainable NE Seattle Annual “Hands On”

Sustainable NE Seattle and the Meadowbrook Community Center are hosting their 8th Annual Skills Fair and the Hubs been invited to share our Resiliency Skills with the community!  This event draws a fairly large crowd (~150) as many different classes are offered – and lunch is free!

• 10am – 5pm
• Meadowbrook Community Center (10517 35th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125)

The Hubs present from 10am – 11:30am in a very large classroom; large enough to have multiple stations that the public can rotate through.  The emphasis is hands-on education and topics covered will include

1. Controlling utilities
2. Sourcing and purifying water (how much water to store, draining a water heater, purifying w/bleach, lifestraws, etc.)
3. Sanitation needs (emergency toilets and handling waste)
4. Community resources (HUBs, SNAP groups, HAM radios)
5. Individual resources (making a home/car/work emergency kit)
