A magnitude 9.0 earthquake in Seattle?
The recent New Yorker article The Really Big One, about a magnitude 9.0 earthquake in Seattle has sparked a lot of interest in emergency preparedness. You should take time now to build a kit, make a plan and take one more important step of meeting your neighbors in advance of the big one. The City of Seattle’s program Seattle Neighbors Actively Prepare (SNAP) is a way for you to work with your neighbors to create a plan for how you can help each other in the event of a disaster.
The City of Seattle has multiple plans and activities, you can view them here: City of Seattle Preparedness Response 2015. And if you are prepared, and the people are around you are prepared, we can all make it through when the big one comes.
