“Remember, Repair, Prepare”
As the 5 year mark passes since the devastating Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, we come together as a community to honor survivors, hear their stories, and celebrate the strength of Japan’s resiliency as they continue to rebuild.
How do we, as a community, prepare ourselves in the Pacific Northwest for the 9.0 magnitude Cascadia Earthquake? Scientists have warned our communities that our region has a strong probability of occurring a devastating earthquake event during our children’s and grandchildren’s lifetimes.
Join the Japanese dignitaries, experts in Emergency Preparedness and community members to learn about disaster preparedness for your family, neighbors and local business owners, speak with students visiting from Tohoku Japan about their personal experiences, and honor Japan through music and song. The Teatro ZinZanni band will host a sing-along and the event will close with a special presentation from the Winds of Hope chorus.
