Join us! You will learn…
- the mission of our Emergency Communication Hub
- when we would activate
- how we fit into the City’s plans
- the key roles within the Hub
We’ll talk briefly about the physical and logical flow of information at the Hub and we’ll practice handling scenarios you might expect from neighbors after a big disaster. This event will help us prepare for the city-wide “Disaster Practice” in June.

Ballard has volunteers committed! to helping their neighbors deal with the immediate aftermath of a large-scale disaster.
In the event of a disaster, six Emergency Communication Hubs in Ballard will “activate” to establish communication with Seattle’s Emergency Operations Center and to assist in the coordination of sharing local available resources.
