More equipment in more places!
Thanks to the Seattle City Council, $18,000 was set aside to purchase hub boxes and start up supplies for hubs in 2016. The Office of Emergency Management and Department of Neighborhoods created the application process and received multiple applications to fund new and existing locations.
Here’s the list of the awarded Hubs, congratulations!
- Beacon United Methodist Church
- Eastlake
- Rainier Beach
- West Edge
- Belltown
- Queen Anne Bowl
- Powell Barnett Park (Central Area)
- Victory Heights
- Ethiopian Center in Seattle
- Ravenna Bryant
- Ross Park (Fremont)
The City will now purchase the equipment and deliver, avoiding the reimbursement step that is used with other city funding programs. We thank the Council, OEM and DON for piloting the program this year and hope it will be continued in future years.
