Community Outreach Summer 2016

Three Festival Outreach
Outreach in the summer months really picks up. Our first foray onto the streets was at the Morgan Community Festival, which was one week after the Cascadia Rising drill. We gave away half of our inventory of “how to build a Kit” brochures!
That high interest continued at the West Seattle Summer Fest, the Hub booth was up all day on Saturday and we talked with many folks who were interested in the hubs and more motivated to get their personal plans in place. We talked to several people also interested in the radio aspect and were looking for class and testing information.
The same trend continued at the Ballard Seafood Fest, where the “wheel of preparedness” drew kids and adults alike to take a test on their preparedness knowledge. Between the two events on that one weekend, over 25 people signed up to keep in touch with their hubs.
Upcoming outreach events will be at Victory Heights, Rainier Beach, Queen Anne, Ballard and West Seattle, as well as during Night Out – see our Events Calendar for dates and details.
