“Emergency Hub” drill and more! (Laurelhurst)

LEAP (Laurelhurst Emergency Action Plan) will hold its annual Hub drill:

• Saturday, September 20
• 1pm to 3pm
• St. Stephen’s Church grounds (4805 NE 45th St.)

Come to the drill – learn about the Hub and help LEAP volunteers practice post-earthquake scenarios.

• Learn how Ham Radio operators will communicate with the City and other Seattle neighborhoods.
• Collect information about earthquake preparation.
• Enter a drawing for useful emergency items.
• Eat ice cream.
• Bring your neighbors – Bring the kids!

New this year is a medical tent for dispensing advice and basic first aid.

Also new, LEAP is forming a bicycle emergency team to carry messages and supplies post-earthquake. To volunteer, show up with your bike at 2pm for a bicycle drill exercise. More details?  Contact adannenberg2@gmail.com.
