SUMMARY:"Unprepared" movie - Rainier Beach Community Club
DESCRIPTION:Please join us as we take a hard look at our level of preparedness for a projected large NW earthquake that could happen in our lifetime.  Oregon Public Broadcasting and the Oregon Field Guide spent a year-and-a-half probing into the state of Oregon’s preparedness\, and found that when it came to bridges\, schools\, hospitals\, building codes and energy infrastructure\, Oregon lagged far behind many quake-prone regions of the country. This 55 minute documentary has important insights about our lack of preparedness in the Seattle region as well. \n\nSaturday\, Sep 14th\n7pm  (doors open at 6:30pm)\nRainier Beach Community Club\n\n6038 S Pilgrim St\, Seattle\, WA 98118\n\n\n\n \nViewing followed by a panel discussion with: \n\n\n\nPatti Quirk\, Emergency Management Program Director\, Seattle Department of Transportation\nKit Loo\, SDOT Director of Roadway Structures Division\nAnn Forrest\, Emergency Communication Hubs

SUMMARY:Hub Drill - Loyal Heights
DESCRIPTION:Join neighbors at the Loyal Heights Playground as they take their new Hub gear for a spin! \nThe Ballard Hubs joined forces and wrote a grant to replenish the gear in their boxes and host multiple events.  The results: they are better equipped to support their communities after a large disaster.  The gear purchased includes new canopies\, tables\, whiteboards\, signage\, and organizational tools.  Hubs don’t stock food or water for neighbors.  Instead\, they have a system to keep neighbors informed about what’s going on\, help neighbors locate and share resources\, and organize manpower to help one another.  Stop by for 20 minutes – or the entire two hours!  You will be SO glad you did. \n\nSunday\, Sep 29\n1pm to 3pm\nLoyal Heights playground (2101 NW 77th St)\n\nALL are welcome.  No experience necessary!! \n
