SUMMARY:Accessible CERT course
DESCRIPTION:The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates individuals about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact the Pacific Northwest. \nGet training in basic disaster response skills like fire safety\, light search and rescue\, disaster medical operations. \nThis course is accessible for all people who self-identify as disabled \nNOTE: Although the City of Seattle no longer does CERT trainings and does not have an active\, supported CERT program\, the skills learned through these classes are invaluable for both personal and family safety\, and as resources that the whole community can use in a disaster.  Until now\, people with disabilities had little to no access to these skills trainings – even though they have just as much need for them.  These Accessible CERT classes are specifically designed to be accessible to anyone of any ability\, offering an opportunity where it was not before. \n3 full days: September 29\, 30 and October 1st 2017. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. \nFire Station 17    –   16917 NE 116th St\, Redmond\, WA 98052 \nRegister to attend at www.redmondccc.org/accessiblecert \nFor further information contact:   Curry Mayer (425) 452-2816 or Pattijean Hooper  (425) 556-2219 \n
