DESCRIPTION:When a large disaster happens\, first responders and other city services may be overwhelmed. Transportation may be disrupted and communication may be difficult. It is vital that city residents are prepared to be self-sufficient during these times. Having knowledge of some key disaster skills is a crucial part of that preparedness effort.\nThis training provides an overview of light search and rescue skills and basic rescuer safety. When first responders are overwhelmed\, residents may apply some of these techniques to help those around them in need.\nThis Workshop covers the following topics:\n-Rescuer safety\n-Basic search techniques\n-Basic rescue techniques (lifts\, carries\, cribbing).
