DESCRIPTION:Mass casualty events can happen at anytime and anywhere. At your workplace\, at the game\, during your commute\, or even at your house. This free Stop the Bleed training will equip participants with the knowledge to save lives.\nUpon completion\, participants will be able to: \n\nDescribe the progressive strategy for controlling hemorrhage.\n•Demonstrate wound packing and learn about topical dressings.\n•Explain the rationale for early use of a tourniquet for life-threatening extremity bleeding.\n•Demonstrate the appropriate application of a tourniquet to the arm and leg.\n\nRegistration is suggested but not required. Registration helps us estimate attendance and ensure adequate space. It’s important to make sure that our communications are captured and passed accurately and efficiently and the focus will be the techniques to make that happen. Hands on practice will focus on creating and passing message traffic where we will use messages simulating city generated information as well as craft coherent communications from disjointed bits of information.
