DESCRIPTION:High Point is hosting a Community Safety Fair and the Hubs will be holding an Urban Survival Skills Fair as part of that event.  An Urban Survival Skills Fair is where you can visit a number of tables to learn a new skill\, tool or information that will help you be better prepared for emergencies. From water sanitation to pets to smartphone apps\, stop by and see what’s important to know.\nYou can stop at any or all of the stations to learn a skill and get information to help you be more prepared in a disaster to make sure you and your family will be safe and you have skills to help them and your neighbors. \nSomali\, Oromo\, and Vietnamese interpretation will be available.  There is no cost to attend.

SUMMARY:Victory Heights - Hub Drill & Skills Fair
DESCRIPTION:Neighbors are practicing our response to a major disaster.  We will set up the “Hub” but we need actors (like you!) to stop by and present Hub volunteers with a scenario that would be common after a big earthquake.  (We provide the scenario; you just have to read it to a Hub volunteer.)  After that\, Hub volunteers will work to get your needs met.  One or two trips thru the Hub system and it will make perfect sense. No experience needed\, just show up! \nVictory Heights Park (1737 NE 106th Street\, 98125) \nWe’re also hosting a mini-Skills Fair.  You will learn multiple skills to help you prepare for\, and respond to\, an emergency situation.  Learn how to make a twin-bucket toilet\, how to communicate post-disaster\, smartphone apps to download now\, and how to handle utilities!  You will be SO glad you came!
