What is it?
The Garfield Emergency Hub is a neighborhood resource, a physical gathering point for this neighborhood in Central District in the case of a widespread emergency, such as a natural disaster, that interrupts city services.
The hub volunteers—you and your neighbors!—will be hosting events on how to prepare for such an emergency, how the hub meeting point will run, and how we can take care of each other when systems fail.

Saturday, August 22nd, 10am – 1pm @ Garfield High School, 25th & Jefferson
Join the festivities at the Grand Opening of the Garfield Emergency Hub! Meet the volunteers and take a tour of the Hub to learn how it will set up and operate after a major disaster in Seattle. The Hub is located on the EAST side of Garfield High School, in the Faculty parking lot, located north of the football field. Look for the tents, signage and volunteers.

Learn how an Emergency Hub works, so you can jump in to support your neighbors in the case of a disaster. You’ll learn the purpose of an emergency hub, practice the basic roles, and explore potential scenarios. It will be a fun and interactive evening. You’ll grasp how everything works together and feel more ready to help support your neighbors.
