{"id":172,"date":"2026-07-15T21:34:05","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T21:34:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/seattleemergencyhubs.org\/madisonpark\/?p=172"},"modified":"2026-07-15T21:35:04","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T21:35:04","slug":"setup-takedown-drill-august-8-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/seattleemergencyhubs.org\/madisonpark\/2026\/07\/15\/setup-takedown-drill-august-8-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Setup\/Takedown Drill, August 8, 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are having our annual preparedness practice event on\u00a0<strong>Saturday, August 8 from 10am-1pm at the Madison Park tennis courts<\/strong>\u00a0and I hope you can attend!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this&nbsp;<strong>Setup and Takedown drill,<\/strong>&nbsp;we\u2019ll practice setting up and taking down our hub equipment (canopies, tables, and more) and going through some of our processes (including how to unlock our Hub box!). Full schedule below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All are welcome to participate or watch the drill. We would like some additional volunteers to set up the Hub stations (and to put up canopies).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>What does a Hub station volunteer do?&nbsp;<\/em>You and your partners will set up the station, read about the hub role, and share a short statement about what your Hub does during our walkthrough (and any questions you have!). This helps us get valuable info about how to improve our process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For our planning, please email <a href=\"mailto:madpark@gmail.com\">madpark@gmail.com<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSe3Fxhs1g2KMLL75VNCWq7mHzL0NFXpY7Jgc9WyYxvACX-aiA\/viewform?usp=dialog\">\u00a0<\/a>to let us know if you\u2019ll be attending and how you\u2019d like to participate. We\u2019ll send out a reminder closer to the date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What to bring:&nbsp;<\/strong>Please bring sun hats\/sunscreen if it\u2019s sunny out, and work gloves if you are helping put up or take down canopies. Also bring seating if you would like some (the park has picnic benches). We will have water and coffee (and possibly snacks!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s what we\u2019ll do during the drill (timing approximate):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>10am-11am<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Practice locking and unlocking the box (keyholders only)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unpack the hub box<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set up the hub (canopies, tables)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>11am-1pm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Volunteers will spend a few minutes learning about their assigned stations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As a group, we\u2019ll walk through the stations, introduce how they work, and get feedback from the Hub station volunteers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pack the hub back up!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>After the event<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There will be a BRIEF optional debrief after the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are having our annual preparedness practice event on\u00a0Saturday, August 8 from 10am-1pm at the Madison Park tennis courts\u00a0and I hope you can attend!
